Yesterday I had a conversation that completely changed how I'm thinking about women's economic power.
I met with a NAWBO board member who has spent years advancing women in business.
As we talked, one theme kept surfacing.
There are incredible organizations helping women build businesses.
Investors funding women founders.
Educators teaching financial literacy.
Advocates changing policy.
Leaders opening doors.
Founders building communities.
Every one of those efforts matters.
Yet it can still feel like we're making incremental progress instead of transformational progress.
Then something clicked.
Maybe the next breakthrough isn't another organization.
Maybe it's more women bringing the right people together around the same economic opportunity.
Why this matters right now
Women don't have a shortage of talent.
Or ideas.
Or ambition.
What creates movements isn't just more capable people.
It's more connected people.
Imagine what could happen if more women saw themselves as conveners.
The woman who makes the introduction.
Hosts the conversation.
Invites people from different worlds to sit at the same table.
Connects a founder with an investor.
An educator with a policymaker.
A nonprofit leader with a CEO.
Not because everyone needs the same mission.
But because our missions become more powerful when they reinforce one another.
That's the vision behind the Brazen Capital Movement Initiative.
Not to replace the incredible work already happening.
To create more opportunities for it to connect.
Because the future of women's economic power won't be built by one organization.
It will be built by many organizations, leaders, and communities choosing to move together.
Today’s Move
Become the convener.
Ideas:
Invite one person into a bigger conversation this week.
Introduce two women whose work naturally complements each other.
Host coffee.
Start a roundtable.
Ask one question that gets people thinking bigger together.
You don't need to have all the answers.
You just create the space where better answers can emerge.
Proof it works
One thing surprised me about yesterday's conversation.
No one expected me to have a finished blueprint.
Instead, the conversation immediately became:
"Who else should be involved?"
"Who should we connect with?"
"How could we build this together?"
That's when I realized something important.
People don't wait for movements to be completed.
They join movements while they're being built.
The right collaborators aren't looking for perfection.
They're looking for a meaningful place to contribute.
Brazen Boost
Momentum doesn't begin when you have everything figured out.
Momentum begins the moment you bring the right people into the same conversation.
Brazen Law: Convening creates momentum.
A question to sit with today:
Who needs to be in the same room—but isn't?
And what conversation could you start that brings them together?

Don't wait to be invited into the room.
