Welcome to Wednesday. Safe moves are officially off the table.
I got a chance to practice what I preach this week, and it wasn’t comfortable.
I chose to step away from a professional relationship because my boundaries weren’t being respected.
There were plenty of reasonable reasons to stay.
Shared history.
Personal connections.
The urge to be accommodating.
But none of those reasons outweighed the cost.
Why this matters right now:
Experience doesn’t just teach you what to say yes to.
It teaches you when to walk away.
Today’s Move
Leave the relationship that keeps testing your boundaries.
When you notice a dynamic where you’re constantly explaining, adjusting, or tolerating more than you should, say this, even if only to yourself:
This relationship no longer supports how I work.
I don’t need to justify that.
I need to act on it.
Rules:
Do not over-explain the decision
Do not wait for permission or agreement
Do not stay out of politeness
Make the exit clean, not dramatic
You are not burning bridges.
You are choosing where your energy belongs.
Proof it works
The most effective leaders I know don’t make noise when they leave misaligned situations.
They simply stop participating in dynamics that drain them, and their work improves immediately.
Brazen Boost
Clarity is a leadership skill.
Protecting your time and energy isn’t about being difficult.
It’s about creating the conditions to do your best work with the right people.
As you gain experience, leadership looks less like being seen and more like judgment, self-trust, and clean decisions.
Brazen Law reinforced: Self-trust is the strategy.
That’s today’s move. Make it before Wednesday decides for you.
One more thing.
Our next Trailblazers: The Women-Biased Intentional Networking Hike is happening Saturday, February 21st in Culver City.
This is where conversations about boundaries, judgment, and clean decisions move out of theory and into real connection with women who value clarity and aligned relationships.
If this resonates, you’re welcome to join us.
